Long post - 16 fun facts about me!

- My default facial expression is ‘pissed off’, but it doesn’t mean that I am. You will know when something’s wrong.
- I hate it when people say to me ‘cheer up it might never happen’. Now, when someone says this I make them feel really guilty by telling them a close relative has just died.
- A few years ago I developed a complex over the way I pronounced my name so when I came to uni I introduced myself to people as ‘Dan’ rather than ‘Daniel’.
- It takes me hours to write even the most simplest of posts because I worry the grammar police will judge me harshly for poor grammar and sentence construction.
- Like a lot of tumblrs my ambition is to write for a living, particularly comic books.
- I never paid attention at school and for the last few years I hardly ever went in. My mum worked full time so she had no idea that I just stayed at home all day. Not surprisingly I finished school at 16 with few GCSE’s.
- At that age my ambition was to be a musician but my family did their best to nip that in the bud, and foolishly I listened.
- My dad got me my first full time job on a building site but I quickly realized that the building game was not for me. Following that I went through a string of retail and fast food jobs.
- For about 2 years I worked in a factory that manufactured cardboard boxes.
- The business was slowly dying so it meant there wasn’t much work to do. A lot of days were spent laying around sleeping, reading, kicking a football about or devising new games to play to keep ourselves occupied.
- Working in a factory making cardboard boxes was a contributing factor in the decision to do something with my life.
- I stopped eating meat April last year and plan to go vegan by 2010. Cutting out meat was easy but I don’t know how I’m going to live without cheese.
- I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters (all younger than me) and a huge extended family. I could’ve just said I’m the oldest of five kids but we don’t all share the same parents. It’s complicated so I’m not gonna bother explaining it.
- I’m involuntarily shy and guarded with new people so it means I find it tough making new friends.
- On a number of occasions at uni I’ve been called a ‘dark horse’ by those who have gotten to know me better hence my chosen tumblr name.
- I have few followers so I might tag someone who has been tagged already.
